TOKYO FLAGSHIP STORE OPENS

Studio Nicholson's long-anticipated first flagship store in Japan, has opened its doors to the public on 14 July 2023. The store, located in the sophisticated shopping destination of Aoyama, has been purposefully designed to offer customers the complete Studio Nicholson experience.

A considered blend of natural and man-made materials used throughout the interior echoes the intelligent shapes and textured fabrication found in every Studio Nicholson collection. Natural light floods the ground-floor space thanks to the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, set within the industrial-reinforced concrete exterior.

Collections are displayed in portable bespoke modular frames, produced in solid oak plywood and laminated with the Studio Nicholson’s signature colourway. The fresh, pared-back atmosphere continues with a glossed concrete floor – complementing the warmth of ply hanging rails. Floor-to-ceiling curtains, engineered to separate changing room areas and the shop floor, run on seamless s-track systems.

The opening marks a significant moment for Studio Nicholson Founder and Creative Director, Nick Wakeman who has spent over 20 years working in Tokyo. She says “I first came to a perfectly ordered Tokyo back in 1999. Arriving from a grimy nineties London, I found everything in Japan was impeccable, well ordered and clean - the tonal beiges, browns and creams and the light in Japan, I ­­­­­fell in love with it. Tokyo has informed all my design taste levels over the past two decades. This store opening is the brand coming home.”

Stocking the full product range across men's and womenswear, in addition to Studio Nicholson’s signature footwear and accessories, the expansive floorplan boasts ample space to welcome customers.
