Studio Nicholson are bringing back the joy of clothes. Module 01 sends out a signal that says it’s absolutely okay to rejoice in the undeniable rush that ‘new stuff’ brings. Let’s park the guilt and be honest for a second, about how we all have a spring in our step when there’s a box-fresh jumper or a banging new trench on the block. Nobody needs to start again – it’s just a matter of layering up differently or adding texture with fabrics we wouldn’t normally wear.
It’s about coming to the conclusion that when we’re sick of what we’ve already got, all we need to do is inject those tried and tested outfits of ours with something totally new. Wardrobes shouldn’t be a mausoleum for redundant ‘product’ we’ve fallen out of love with – they’re the place we should head to feel grounded, excited and creative. Let’s fling open those doors and start experimenting again.
Module 01 takes care of business. More of a grazing menu than a fully-fledged 3-course meal, this handful of easily digestible modular morsels is being introduced to add value to the bits you already own (and wear). Those repeat outfits of yours deserve a bit of extra seasoning, so Module 01’s small, but perfectly formed selection of extra molecules is just what you need to breathe new life into your existing modular favourites.
Fleece is given an elegant, amplified makeover thanks to the Wool, Silk and Linen fibre blend. Available in toffee toned Teddy or big, bold Cobalt Blue, the Face Zip-Up fleeces are a unisex insulator with serious technical attitude. Extra fluidity comes in the form of the Inber Knit. Cut with a roll neck and sleeves that hit the elbow, this luxurious Merino layer brings warmth without bulk in Dark Navy or wholesome Biscuit.
The Romero’s been beefed up for winter with a sturdy Cotton/Poly cloth that’s been woven for active autumn/winter sports inspired durability. Keeping with that laid-back flavour, the Tannaro Denim Pant has been enzyme washed. The usual premium selvedge fabric has been processed from the original deep dark indigo, to make way for a softer, super comfortable, 90s ease. There are chunky Merino Cotton knits (Cirrus Cardigan and Nimbus Jumper) in Cobalt or Caramel, and the Roro Technical Overshirt with big pocket energy.
To finish, there’s the Chocolate Raisin or Cobalt seamless Merino Beanie, the Vault cotton blend striped socks for scrunching down with your Moonstars, boots or sandals and of course, an oversized showerproof Mac – the Ventus. Mix it up by picking a piece from the just launched Module 01 micro-collection. Silhouettes you can rely on, fabrications you can trust and details that make dressing feel optimistic - again.
